If there is a chance of heavy rain it is recommended that the tripod be set up with the wind direction behind. No, rechargeable batteries power the whole system. It is recommended that all batteries be fully charged prior to use. A fully charged system will allow for between 3 and 4 hours of use.
The video files are stored on the cameras STD card. Once filming has finished remove the card from the camera and insert it into a card reader or directly into most laptops. There is a wide range of software that can be used to edit the video.
